Why put a QR code on your card

People lose business cards, or never type the details in. A QR code lets them save you to their phone right when you meet, while they still remember you. It also stops spelling mistakes in emails and phone numbers.

Step 1: fill in your details

The Contact card type is already selected. Fill in only what people really need:

Every extra field makes the code busier. On a small card, fewer fields means a code that scans from farther away.

Step 2: style it to match your card

Styled code is selected. Pick a ready-made style or set your brand colour for the dots. Keep the dots dark and the background light: phones need that contrast. Add your logo in the middle if you like, and check the green Scans well note.

Prefer a photo of yourself? Switch to Photo code. A small face in a code makes a card memorable. Print photo codes a little bigger, at least 2.5 cm.

Step 3: download for print

Choose Download SVG. Printers like vector files, and SVG stays sharp at any size. If your printer wants an image file, download the Large PNG.

Design tips

Test before you print 500 cards

Ask the printer for one proof. Scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone. Check that every field saves in the right place: mobile as mobile, email as email. Then order the rest.

Questions people ask

Should the code hold my contact details or a link?

A contact card (vCard) saves straight to the phone's contacts and works without internet. A link can open a profile page with more details and photos. For most business cards, the contact card is the better choice.

How small can the code be on a card?

Keep it at least 2 cm wide, with a white border around it. Smaller codes may not scan, especially if the card has a lot of fields.

Which file should I send to the printer?

Download the SVG. It stays sharp at any size. If the printer asks for an image, use the Large PNG (2400 px).

Can I add my logo?

Yes. In Styled code, choose Add a logo. Keep the logo size at the default or smaller on a small card, and check the green Scans well note.

What if my phone number changes?

The details are inside the code, so you need a new code and new cards. If you change jobs often, a link to a profile page you can edit may suit you better.
